Information
This EP is the sixth release in the "Whimsical Music" series. It's a collection of "leftovers" from Dub Rogue's other and/or unfinished works.
Track 1 is a remix for Die Pilzen, a late 1990s rap crew from Berlin. The original song "Heia Walpurgisnacht" can be found on their 2x12" album "Gegenwarten… und andere Situationen" on the Deck 8 label. This remix was started in 1998 and finally finished in 2023. 25 years in the making! Music critic L. Huger from Helsinki wrote about it: "Dub Rogue is back with another whimsical boom tune."
Track 2 is a remix for Orly Frider aka Blondub Sexy Sound with whom Dub Rogue had collaborated in 2007 for the compilation LP "Mutan Records V.s. Robots". This song was a possible alternative, but it took over 15 years to actually finish it.
Track 3 is the instrumental riddim of the song "Cutaway Guy (Referential Mix)" from the 2021 album "Dub Rules Everything Around Me".
Track 4 is an instrumental electro dub remix of the song "In Dub We Trust" from the 2021 album "Dub Rules Everything Around Me". It was originally released on the "Around the World in Dub Vol 11" compilation on Dan Dada Records, but neither the compilation nor the label seem to exist anymore. That's why the song was added to this EP.
